50 young artists come together at Mamut!

Mamut Art Project 2017, which constitutes an area of discovery for collectors, gallery directors and curators while offering independent young artists the opportunity to exhibit their work, will be held at Küçükçiftlik Park between 26-30 April. More than 400 pieces by 50 young artists from different disciplines will be exhibited at Mamut, taking place with the sponsorship on Akkök Holding.

Mamut Art Project, an accessible art event project specifically for Turkey’ independent artists, in continuing with sponsorship this year from Akkök Holding. The Mamut Art Project, developing each year with the pieces of emerging artists, and organized for the fifth time this year, will be held at KüçükÇiftlik Park between 26-30 April 2017.  This year, in addition to painting, video, sculpture, photography, installation, digital, collage, graffiti and performance, different disciplines and varieties such as game art, yarn art, gif and comic books will be included.


1000 applications made
Mamut jury this year consists of, Akkök Holding Board of Directors Chairman and collector Ali Raif Dinçkök, one of the most important conceptual artists of today, Sarkis, art consultant Elif Bayoğlu, curator and author Övül Durmuşoğlu and current art critic Murat Alat. The Selection Committee decided on exhibiting the work of 50 artists among 1000 applications to the Mamut Art Project, held for the fifth time this year. The more than 400 pieces will bring artists together with art lovers in personal space of around 10 square metres each. 

Mamut Performance for the first time!
The Mamut Performances program, curated by Simge Burhanoğlu and Seyhan Musaoğlu, will host performance artists this year. Another innovation for Mamut 2017 is “ikonz”, to be held jointly with artist collective Krüw, bringing together artists from graffiti artists to illustrators, animators to sculptors, and Krüw’s Mamut special edition silkscreen prints will be exhibited at the event.
