Maarten Vanermen

1986, Leuven, Belgium   An unequivocal fascination for light, space, time and the perception thereof functions as the main motive for the art of Maarten Vanermen. In an attempt to capture, describe and understand these processes, Vanermen uses both analogue and digital media, including old fluorescent lights, new beamers, disposed and high-tech audiovisual equipment. Hence, he creates a visual dissection of the ideas and subjects surrounding him.    Maarten Vanermen received his MA Fine Arts from LUCA Brussels and thereafter completed the postgraduate programme Transmedia in Brussels. He lives in Schaarbeek and works in Leuven.    Previous exhibitions include 2017
