His practice is driven by a constant reaction to digital acceleration and nowadays’ proliferation of images. This loss of materiality in the digital era brought him to examine the core of photography – its construction process. Mandry uses photographs shot on trips around the world as raw material for experimentation. Each project is based on another location, each one dragging his focus on a specific field of related experimentation and references. The bet of his work consists in confronting exotic representations with our expectations towards the so-called indexical medium of photography.
