C.M. Kösemen is an artist and researcher born in Ankara in 1984. Kösemen, who completed his education at Cornell and Sabancı Universities, later completed his master's program on media and communication at Goldsmiths College. The artist is closely interested in zoology, paleontology, history and mysticism. The artist, who depicts various beings in the dream world in his works, describes this process as both confronting his own fears and a naturalist-like expedition into the subconscious of society. In his paintings, which he paints all at once, without making sketches or experiments on large-sized papers, Kösemen depicts strange creatures with incomprehensible movements, spirit- and genie-like hybrid beings, and attractive female forms. The paintings are exhibited side by side in a way that the viewer can construct his own story; creates a fictional world that touches on evolution, fear and sexuality.
Developing his career as an artist, writer and advertiser, Köşemen specialized in surrealist painting and scientific drawings of prehistoric creatures during his artistic production. His works were exhibited in exhibitions in Catania, Vienna, Ulcinj, Istanbul, Ankara, Eskisehir, London and Tel Aviv.
Kösemen is also the author of the popular science-art book All Yesterdays: Unique and Speculative Views of Dinosaurs and Other Prehistoric Animals; and is the author of the popular online science fiction book All Tomorrows.
